MASTER KEMPKA Master Kempka began Martial Arts in 1983 at the Academy of Martial Arts in Grafton, Wisconsin. Since that time Master Kempka has travelled around the world learning and teaching International TaeKwon-Do (ITF) style TaeKwon-Do. He currently holds a 7th degree black belt (A-7-58) with the ITF. Master Kempka was a USA Team Coach both in 2002 and 2009, and additionally holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. WHAT WE DO Premier Martial Arts-Mint Hill opened to its first students in 2014, and has since had the pleasure of serving over 100 families in the surrounding area. The school's lead instructors--Master Jeremy Kempka, Mrs. Amber Kempka, and Mr. Ryan Buckley--have cumulatively received over 50 years of training in sparring, weapons, and self-defense skills, and greatly enjoy passing their experience on to next generation of martial artists. The Tiny Champs Program: The Tiny Champs program is based on the premise that every child is capable of learning basic martial arts, if they are taught in the right way, at the right pace. Corrections are kept to a minimum, and when they are necessary, they are made in a positive way. Children in this age group are more eager to please the adults in their lives than any other age group. This fact makes it easy to maintain a positive and uplifting atmosphere in this program. If the Tiny Champs are taught to believe that they can do something, they will be able to do it! The Tiny Champs Program is designed to meet the developmental needs of three and four year olds. Research tells us that the attention span of any child, on average, is one minute for each year of age. So the average three year old can attend to a single task for about three minutes. In light of this, each activity in a Tiny Champs class should only last 3-4 minutes. Research also tells us that children at this age learn by doing. They do what they see others doing. So, as instructors, it is very important that we rely less on our explanations of what we want them to do, and more on our demonstrations of what we want them to do. The belt colors follow the same order as the standard Premier Martial Arts belt progression. They are as follows: White, White with Yellow Stripe, White with Orange Stripe, White with Purple Stripe, White with Blue Stripe, White with Green Stripe, White with Brown Stripe, and White with Red Stripe.
